Produced in small, micro, and nano breweries, craft beer has come a long way from the North American to the European continent and changed the brewing and our experience of the beer. Hand-made, it carries within itself a whole array of ideas and creativity of each brewery individually.
Why Craft Beer?
Craft brewing is not about quantity. It focuses on quality natural ingredients, and the craftsmanship is left to the skillful hands and ideas of those who make every sip of this beer a magic. Especially since there is neither a trace nor a voice from filtration and pasteurization, so the flavors and aromas come in all their fullness.
Three good guys? What are we talking about…
Sweet (barley, wheat, rye), hops and yeast are the three good guys that are responsible for the top quality and recognizable taste of the craft beer. Without these ingredients, it would be impossible to embark on any adventure in cooking beer and offer our palate a pleasure to remember. It serves as the basis for us, and the passion for beer brewing, enthusiasm and creativity when combining ingredients is what gives us a personal stamp. That’s why every craft beer is an art for itself.
Good water = good beer
By mentioning the three necessary ingredients, we deliberately left one. We’re talking about water. We did not even know that water is the most important ingredient. We learned that hardness of the water affects the taste: soft water is used for light beer, while the hard water is responsible for the cutting flavor of the dark beer. And did you know that the mineral composition of water affects not only the taste, but also the quality and even the color of beer? You’re surprised, aren’t you? So, it’s clear where we need to find the key to a good beer.
And what style do you like?
There are two types of craft beer: lager and ale beer. The difference makes – yeast! As ale beer is more interesting to us, it is good to know that these are beers of high fermentation, with distinctly pronounced aromas. They can be of different colors, intense flavors and alcoholic types. The best-known types of ales that treat us with each new sip are: APA (American Pale Ale), IPA (Indian Pale Ale), Porter, Stout, Wheat Beer and WitBier (special Belgian wheat beer) … What is the basic difference? In the amount of hops that gives beer the recognizable bitterness and flavor. Also, the difference is made by barley and wheat hops, while everything else depends on the supplements – chocolate is to be eaten, but can also be drunk, the chocolate stout tells us.
Ah, that old good craft beer … you always remind us why the craft products are unsurpassed!
