Between the Adriatic sea and Velebit, in a heart of Ravni Kotari, there is a unique family Jokic winery. Its specialty is reflected in the organic cultivation of vine, careful nourishment and a specific microclimate environment, but also the family who gives all love and warmth into a winery.
A stone trail
In 1906, Acim Jokic has began the wine tradition that he would leave to his descendents. One century later, his descendent Dusko Jokic returns to the fertile soil of his heritage in the village Lisane Tinjske in Dalmatia and renews his family tradition. The land where the vines were once proudly breeding was untouched and clean, in the hinterland of the sea, raised on the sagging stone. This enabled the descendant of grandfather Acim to made a new plantings and start organic cultivation of the vine. All of this Dusko Jokic did out of love for his grandfather, wineyard and vine, without any thought that he would ever start up the business. Fertil soil, suitable microlays and great knowledge in which they are constantly investing, have made a high quality wine today. It is nice to see the oldest and youngest Jokic at the same time in the full swing of grape harvesting, how they harvest every cluster on this ground, from where we get the wines of protected geographical origin.
Beneficial organic production
The vine of the family Jokic is cultivated on a clean, ecological soil, just as nature has given to us. It is processed manually, and there are no traces of herbicides that impair the quality of soil. The vine is treated with blue stone and is especially cultivated. Also, there are no artificial, but exlusively manure fertilizers which are the oldest, but also the most healthy way of fertilizing the soil – it is apsolutely clear how much the care about the soil on which the vine grows is very important to Jokic family. Everything is completely natural, organic and pure.
Organic wines from which head does not hurt
In the vineyard were only indigenous varieties – first organic Jokic marastina, rare and autochthonous, the Dalmatian variety of the same name that gave it a unique flavour of this white wine. The flavour is fresh, at the moment is mineral, and beatifully balanced acids melt in the long fruity finish.
The cross-breeding of bratkovina bela and zlatarica blatska gave a Jokic posip – the autochthonous variety which for years seduce with its aromatic clarity. This dry white wine is characterized by strong and full character. The extraordinary balance of sugar and fruit acids gives it harmony, freshness and consistency.
To the white, authentic wine varieties later joined the red Jokic Cuvee wine, which is characterized by intense scent of ripe berry fruit. For its specialty is responsible organic coupage of cabernet, merlot and shiraz, with high level of tannins.
Glamorous and extremely fresh, the Jokic rose wine Rosy is distingushed by the gorgeous fruit flavour of juicy raspberries. Although young, it has a well-balanced acids and fruit aromas. It is lightly and valuable even for most experienced wine lovers. You will simply enjoy with the first sip.
